CryptoLicense is the trading name of CL GLOBAL SDN BHD, registered in Malaysia as 1421939-T. The group also has CRYPTO LICENCE LTD in the United Kingdom (16303114) and Elmbridge Advisory Limited in Hong Kong (78559566). Both overseas entities were registered in 2025.
A licensing adviser asks you for a great deal before it does any work: shareholder registers, passport scans, source-of-funds narratives, board minutes, sometimes bank statements. It is a one-directional flow of trust, and it is worth interrupting. Before any of that leaves your side, you are entitled to establish that the firm on the other end of the email legally exists, is currently in good standing, and is the same entity that will sign your contract and issue your invoice.
This page exists so that check takes about five minutes and requires nothing from us. The general method — how to verify any counterparty, and what a register can and cannot prove — is set out on verifiable entity proof. What follows is only about us.
Who would you actually be contracting with?
CryptoLicense is a brand, not a legal person. The contracting entity is CL GLOBAL SDN BHD, registration number 1421939-T, incorporated in Malaysia. It is the entity that signs the service agreement and issues the invoice. The business began in 2020, and the director and chief executive is TANG Wai Zhuan (Sheldon Tang).
That matters more than it sounds. In cross-border advisory work, one of the most reliable warning signs is a mismatch between three names: the name on the website, the name on the contract, and the name on the receiving bank account. Ours should be identical in all three places. If a document reaches you with a different counterparty on it, treat that as a question to be answered before any payment is made, not a formatting detail.
What are the group's registered entities and numbers?
Three, listed in full. Company names are reproduced as the registers render them.
| Jurisdiction | Name as registered | Company number | Register |
|---|---|---|---|
| Malaysia | CL GLOBAL SDN BHD — the contracting entity | 1421939-T | SSM e-Info, the official search service of the Companies Commission of Malaysia |
| United Kingdom | CRYPTO LICENCE LTD | 16303114 | Companies House — the company record opens directly by number |
| Hong Kong | Elmbridge Advisory Limited | 78559566 | Companies Registry, via its e-Services search portal |
The three registers do not behave the same way, so the check is slightly different in each:
- United Kingdom. Companies House is free and needs no account. Search the number, not the name. The record shows the registered name, status, incorporation date, filing history, directors and persons with significant control.
- Hong Kong. The Companies Registry's e-Search service covers the Company Name Index, Directors Index, Charges Index and Document Index, and can be used as an unregistered online user. Search fees are payable under the Registry's published schedule.
- Malaysia. SSM e-Info accepts either a company name or a registration number. Full results require sign-in, and company profiles, certificates and shareholder particulars are purchased individually.
Search by number in every case. Names can be changed, and near-identical names are common in this industry; a registration number is issued once and does not move.
How old are these companies?
New — and we would rather say so on this page than have you find it on the register and wonder why we did not.
This has a direct bearing on a figure we publish. 10+ Years of Industry Experience refers to the experience of the people on the team, not to the age of any company in the group. A company incorporated in 2025 cannot have a decade of filings behind it, and conflating the two is one of the standard sleights of hand in this sector. We are not going to use it, and if you see it used elsewhere, the register settles it in one click.
Why does this page carry no addresses?
Because a registered office is a statutory service address, not evidence of a place of work. Many companies use a company secretary's or accountant's address, and it changes whenever that provider changes. A trading location is a separate fact again, and neither is recorded in a way that stays true for long.
There is a sharper reason too. On a page whose entire purpose is that every claim can be checked, printing an address that later disagrees with the register would fail its own test at the first click. Numbers do not drift and registers are always current, so this page gives you numbers and register links — and no addresses at all. For the same reason we say "group entities" rather than "our offices": we have no staffed premises to evidence, so we do not claim any.
What actually counts as evidence about an advisory firm?
Claims about a firm like ours sit at very different levels of reliability, and presenting them as one undifferentiated block is itself a form of spin. Here is how we separate ours:
| Tier | What it covers | Who can verify it |
|---|---|---|
| Register facts | The three names, three numbers, registration dates and current status above | You, right now, without asking us anything |
| Contract facts | Contracting entity, scope, allocation of responsibility, payment terms, termination rights, the name on the receiving account | You, from documents in your own possession — a stronger record than any web page |
| Self-reported figures | 100+ Companies Served · 10+ Jurisdictions Covered · 10+ Years of Industry Experience · 5M+ Highest Project Value (USD) | Nobody, independently. These come from us. Ask how they are counted; do not weigh them like a register entry |
| Claims we do not make | Office counts, headcount, approval rates, processing times, "good relationships with the regulator" | Nobody, ever — there is no public record behind any of them |
One category deserves its own note: case references. The most checkable output of licensing work is the licensed entity that exists afterwards, and licensed entities normally appear on a regulator's public register. Whether we can give you a name, though, is the client's decision, not ours. So we publish no client names and no attributed testimonials on this site. If a reference would be decisive for you, ask, and we will seek that client's consent — and tell you plainly if we cannot get it, rather than substituting a vaguer claim.
Why won't you find us on a regulator's register?
Because preparing and submitting a licence application is not itself a licensable activity in most jurisdictions. An advisory firm is generally not an authorised person, so its absence from a regulator's list is the expected result rather than a warning sign. The inverse is the thing to watch: any adviser implying that it is itself authorised or supervised should be checked on the relevant register immediately. We are a licensing and compliance advisory firm — not a regulator, not a bank, not a law firm.
Who do you work with, and who don't you?
Our clients are Chinese-speaking founders and operators — mainland China, Hong Kong and other Asia-Pacific markets — building crypto and fintech businesses that need authorisation somewhere else. That is a deliberate focus, and the corollary is worth stating: we do not market to Western buyers, because a firm in London or Frankfurt can generally reach a local provider directly and will often be better served doing so.
Being told who a firm is not for is more useful than another paragraph about global reach. If you are reading this in English because you are assessing us on behalf of an Asia-based client, you are in the right place. If you are looking for domestic counsel in your own market, you probably are not. Our jurisdiction coverage is 10+ Jurisdictions Covered across five continents, set out on the jurisdictions overview; how the work is actually delivered is on how we work.
What we will not promise
No approval can be guaranteed. Every regulator retains full discretion to refuse an application, and we make no representation about outcomes, approval rates or timelines. Progress depends on both sides: you responding in time, and some stages waiting on an authority whose pace is set by its own workload. What we do commit to is that waiting is not dead time — the other workstreams continue in parallel.

If you have checked the three numbers above and something does not reconcile, send us what you found and we will answer to the same standard we have used here: a source where one exists, and a plain statement where one does not.
