What should a first message contain?
Send these four things and the first reply will be worth reading
- What the product actually does, described in plain operational terms rather than marketing language
- How funds move: who holds client assets, at what point, and in what form — fiat, stablecoin or both
- Where your customers are, legally, and whether you are already serving any of them
- Which markets you want to be able to serve, and any hard deadline you are working to
Almost every unhelpful first exchange comes from the same gap: the question asked is which licence should I get, and the information needed to answer it has not been supplied. Four facts change that, and they are listed above. With them, we can usually say in one reply which regulated categories your model plausibly falls into, which jurisdictions are worth comparing, and whether this is work we actually take on.
What happens next
If the fit looks right, the first substantive stage is an assessment of the business model and target markets — described in full on how we work. That stage exists to establish which category you fall under in each jurisdiction under consideration, and to surface anything that is clearly unworkable before money is spent. If your model sits outside where we have genuine experience, we say so there rather than after an engagement letter.
